Q: What made you become interested in real estate?
A: I grew up in a real estate family, so it was in my blood, and my son Taylor, who works with me, is now our third generation Realtor.
Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted?
A: Rival buyers tried to bribe each other into not making an offer to increase the chance the other buyer would get it!
Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far?
A: It’s every time I hand over the keys to a buyer, knowing they’ll no longer be subject to rent increases and that I’ve helped them on their way to financial independence.
Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license?
A: That real estate is best done by forming relationships and friendships with clients, rather than treating them as transactional.
Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started?
A: Everything has changed, but the internet changed things the most. Yes, there used to be a world without the internet!
Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job?
A: Honestly, with so many new agents in the business, it’s having a realtor representing the other side of the transaction who has no clue what they’re doing, because to close escrow on time, I have to do their job for them.
Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say?
A: Grateful to be helping others.
