Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: I have always been in marketing and sales. I was interested in becoming a realtor but wanted to wait until my children were older and didn't need Mom quite so much. Now my son has graduated from college and my daughter is a sophomore in college, and I am loving my choice to put them first and now devote my time to my clients. Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A: Meeting people and making connections is always such a pleasure. So many interesting stories and situations people in and when I can help that makes my job so worthwhile. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: I was able to list a home and ten acres for a lady that had lost her husband here in Tennessee and didn't have any family here. She was not left in the best financial situation and desperately wanted to move to Arizona to be near her daughter. I was able to list and sell her home in two days and now she lives happily in Arizona near her daughter and still stays in touch with me. It was very rewarding knowing I helped make this happen for her. Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A: I wish I’d known about more books to read about the industry, as well as business social media accounts. Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A: I believe consumers are becoming more and more informative and doing their homework when it comes to buying a home. Now that everyone has smartphones and the apps that help them find a home they do have a better feel for the market and what is available. Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: Having enough inventory for my buyers. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent, what would you say? A: The more you tell the more you sell.
