Experience: 37 years Specializations: Residential real estate Areas Served: Sugar Land, Missouri City, Pearland, greater Houston area Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: My grandfather was licensed before he died in the early 50's and had started a real estate company, building company and lumber yard in Austin, Tx back in 1930's. My dad and his brothers took it over and it was one of the prominent black businesses in Austin back then. After taking a real estate law class I took some other real estate courses and the rest is history. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: Passing the Brokers Exam after taking it twice. In 1981 the Texas legislature amend the 2 year experience requirement for 3 months if you had enough college credits, and I did. I had to take it twice since I flunked one of the sections the 1st time I took it. Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A: I wish I had known to keep up with technology. Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A: It is more technical than when I first started. If you aren’t computer savvy you shouldn't get in it. My referrals and experience has kept me going thus far and I'm still learning technical stuff. Q: What's the most challenging part of your job? A: Technology. It is taking over. If you can't embrace it don't try it. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: Wouldn't think of doing anything else.
