Experience: 14 years Specializations: 55+ and first-time home buyers as well as empty nesters. Areas Served: Summerlin and the west side of the Las Vegas Valley Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: I love Real Estate because it gives me the opportunity to help people and make the process a little easier, since buying and selling a home can be a stressful life event. Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A: My open houses have had some strange events, but recently, I met a newly divorced woman who did not think buying a new place and selling her home at the time was possible. I was able to assist her through her home sale and new purchase simultaneously. I will say there were some stressful moments but I was able to get the job done and now she is living in her new home exactly where she was told that she could not purchase a year ago. Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: My proudest moment is when my clients tell me I did a great job and they refer me business. Most of my new clients last year were from referrals and that makes me proud. Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A: Before I got my real estate license, I wish I was I told how difficult it is to get qualified clients that really want to buy or sell. When I first got into this business, I spent a lot of wasted time with people who were not loyal or qualified. Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A: I live in Las Vegas, so our housing market changes constantly. In all my years in the business in Vegas, I do not believe I have experienced a normal housing market. It definitely makes this job very interesting and sometimes challenging. Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job? A: The most challenging part of my job is explaining to consumers that Vegas is no longer in a recession and the deals that once attracted investors and home buyers no longer exist. The median house price is now in the mid $200k range. It is a bargain for people moving here from California, New York and other big cities where taxes are extremely high. We still do not have a state income tax. This brings a lot of people from California to Vegas. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: Challenging, but so worth it!
