Experience: 17 years Specializations: New home construction, second or vacation homes, beachfront homes/condos. Areas Served: Volusia and Flagler Counties in East Florida. Beachside is my favorite place to sell! Who doesn’t want to live at the beach? Q: What made you become interested in real estate? A: My small hometown started to boom around the year 2000. Everywhere I went, a new home was being built. I wanted to be informed of the new areas and subdivisions that were developing in my area, so I believed the best way to stay in-the-know, was to be in real estate. By 2006, Warner Robins, GA in Houston County was the fastest growing town in the US. Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted? A: I had a beautiful Intracoastal Waterway home in Flagler County, FL. During the open house I was visited by a family of manatees at the home’s dock! I knew they were my good luck charms… I walked back inside to greet the potential buyers, who made an offer and are now the happy homeowners of the waterfront property! Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far? A: I love working with my husband. He’s a builder as well as a Realtor. Together we make a pretty good team. Over the years we’ve received awards and acknowledgments but my favorite is our award for our slogan “Spouses Selling Houses”. Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license? A: I should have also received a degree in psychology. As a Realtor, I’m jealous that therapists get to charge hourly for listening to clients’ life issues. It’s part of the job! Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started? A: I saw and was part of the Big Boom in real estate. I also went through the lowest times, when the market crashed. At the present moment, our market is fantastic! It’s a roller coaster! I also began my career before Zillow or mobile apps. I had to FAX my contracts and get wet signatures! I don’t know how we did it! Q: What's the most challenging part of your job? A: Of course, my job is to close every home for our buyers and sellers. Sometimes it comes down to the very last minute to find out the home will not be financed. A good lender should never let it come that close to closing but when it does… it’s a devastating situation for all involved. I’m extremely thankful this doesn’t happen often and I credit my fabulous lenders for doing a great job at avoiding this situation. Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say? A: Happy is: Clear To Close
