Q: What made you become interested in real estate?
A: I moved a lot. I thought I could do it better than the agents I had… More knowledge, more service, more honesty.
Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted?
A: A bird flew in and kept trying to get out through the windows near the ceiling 20 feet up
Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far?
A: The repeat clients who were so loyal that they called me when I was in South Africa to write an offer for them on a $2.5 million house. They only wanted to work with me.
Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license?
A: How expensive it is and how long it can be between paychecks.
Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started?
A: Clients want to see houses on their own now. More distanced… Email or preferable text over a phone call or in person meeting. And less loyalty. They are just looking for the deal without regard for expertise, knowledge, legal protections.
Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job?
A: With Covid-19, the hardest part is obtaining new clients. No open houses here!
Q: If you could sum up being a real estate agent in five words or less, what would you say?
A: Rewarding, challenging, ever-changing.
