Q: What made you become interested in real estate?
A: Every property is a challenge
Q: What is the most interesting thing that happened during an open house you hosted?
A: Someone gave a cash offer full ask.
Q: What was your favorite moment in your career so far?
A: When I was about to open my own real estate firm in 2002, the person I was working for told me she was selling the company to someone else at the time. In our private conversation, she told me that I should let no one stop me from doing it for I was ready to do so.
Q: What do you wish you had known when you first got your real estate license?
A: To ask more questions and read more books about going into real estate. The real estate school doesn’t prepare you one bit for real world transactions.
Q: In what ways have you seen the real estate industry change since you started?
A: The changes are dramatic. From looking through binders of listings and filling them out to make sure the listings are up to date, to doing everything from a tiny device called a cell phone that you don’t even have to go into the office anymore to be productive.
Q: What’s the most challenging part of your job?
A: Getting new listings. I always say you own the listings, you own the market.
A: Read, ask questions, hard work.
